Power Boat Training in Wicklow
We run a number of I.S.A. training courses in tiller and centre console boats. All of the boats are planning craft. All persons must be over 16 years old to take part in any power boat training.
Introduction to Power Boating (Level 1)
The aim of this is to provide a short practical introduction to boat handling and safety on powerboats being used on Irish waters. No previous experience is required. Duration time of a minimum 7 hours.
The I.S.A. National Powerboat Certificate (Level 2)
The aim is develop the skills and knowledge to safety and effectively skipper an open powerboat by day, on inland and coastal waters with which you are familiar. Some experience is needed or the level one. The minimum duration for the course is 14 hours.
The Safety Boat Certificate
The aim of this course is to introduce candidates to the techniques and skills used in powerboats which are escorting racing fleets of dinghies, windsurfers, kitesurfers, kayaks and canoes. To able provide safety and rescue cover for training fleets. To assist in race management duties. Participants must hold the level 2 and it recommended that you hold a first aid certificate and the V.H.F. certificate. The duration of this course should be a least 14 hours.
