WINDSURFING
Windsurfing in Ireland dates back to the early 1980’s and a club was set upon Blessington lake some time after that.
All of the boards that we use in Avon Rí are made from polypropylene which makes the boards a bit heavier but stronger. We use the new wide style Hifly Motion, Mambo and the Matrix. These are boards are good for the beginner to the intermitate windsurfer,
The Motion is 290cm and 219L, the Mambo is 275cm and 175L and the Matrix is 265cm and 149L. We also have a number of Carbon Kevlar boards.
The rigs run from a 2mt kids sail up to a 6.5mt trainer sail.
We have a number of waist harnesses.
Blessington is an ideal location to learn windsurfing with the clean waters and beaches all the way around. There is always rescue cover on the water. Your instructor will be on hand to help with any of you needs and help you develop new skills. Windsurfing is fun and very wet to learn.
You will get the wet suit, booties and a life jacket / buoyancy aid. For those that require a harness these also available.
